Dying Light Studio Making Fantasy RPG
Dying Light 2 developer Techland is ready to move on to its next project in a big way as it's hiring people for a new open-world action-fantasy RPG.
Dying Light and Dying Light 2 developer Techland appears to be getting started in earnest on its next project and this one doesn't look like it will have anything to do with zombies. In order to really start working on what it says is an open-world action-RPG, it needs to staff up and Techland is advertising it has several job openings.
The recent advertisement isn't the first time that it's been clear that Techland is working on its next project. In fact, back in August of last year, the company made it clear it was working on a new open-world AAA game that wasn't tied to the Dying Light franchise. At the time, that the game was open-world and was big in scope was the most the company was willing to divulge in its job listing. It seems likely this fantasy RPG project is what the company was staffing up for last year.
The tweet takes users to the Techland official website where it appears the company is actually looking for quite a few different roles, though the firm has not made it clear that all the openings are for this new game. Positions in animation, art, design development and production all have openings. In fact, those departments all have multiple positions that the company is hiring for.
In the meantime, Techland doesn't appear to have taken its eye off the Dying Light ball. In fact, the company just recently gave fans of the original game a little present. The company has made the enhanced version of Dying Light free, which means that those who never purchased "The Following" DLC can now access it for no extra charge.
Speaking of The Following, the company still has plans for the more recently released Dying Light 2. That includes what it has called "really crazy ideas" what the next version of Techland's signature DLC package.
However, things aren't perfect with the company while it prepares to spend time on the games that are already on the market and this new title that is coming down the pike. The company recently announced it had to delay the arrival of Dying Light 2's first DLC pack. In the meantime, the company has not come close to saying just when this new action-fantasy RPG is coming, or even when the firm is ready to shed more light on the setting or even the title. However, making the fact that it is hiring very public could be a signal Techland will offer more information soon.
